Speed is a stimulant drug which is an amphetamine.  It is usually snorted by the user but can also be swallowed, injected or smoked.  It produces a short high and increased energy and confidence.

Once the user is on a high, their mind will race, the heart rate will increase and they will experience a suppressed appetite.  The “comedown” can last several days with the user feeling depressed and tired.

Using this drug over a sustained period will strain the heart muscles which could prove fatal.
